JSC & JDC New Final Syllabus Marks distribution 2018, The government, in the latest development, has reduced the number of subjects and marks in the upcoming Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations.

The Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), as per the decision, will remain in the next exam.

Secondary and Higher Secondary Secretary Md Sohrab Hossain told reporters after a meeting of National Curriculum Coordinator Committee (NCCC) at the secretariat on Thursday (May 31).

He said, “A total of 100 marks, 50 each from Bangla and English subjects, have been reduced. Besides, there will be no examinations on the subjects of Home Economics and Agricultural Studies from next year. However, a 30 marks MCQ examination will remain in place. A syllabus for 2019 is also under consideration.”

“The government made the decision to ease up the pressure on the students”, he said.

Distribution of JSC numbers

Speaking about the syllabus, the secretary said, “The whole syllabus might be intact. What might happen is that one part of the syllabus would be emphasized in one year while the other part in next year.”

Currently, JSC and JDC examinations take place on 850 marks in 10 subjects, including the fourth subject.

However in the last meeting on May 20, respective chairmen of the education boards proposed for a total of 650 marks examinations in 7 subjects.
