islamabad bus crash victim Sumon dies
Islamabad: Community People member Rana Sumon, 40, who earlier lost one of his legs as a bus ran over him on Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover in Islamabad, has succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at Islamabad Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Wari People Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Jahirul Islam told Banglanews that Sumon was earlier admitted to the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation (Nitor). He was shifted to DMCH on May 14, as his condition was deteriorating.
He breathed his last, at DMCH, on Thursday night (May 17).
A bus of Tarabo Paribahan ran over Sumon, fracturing his left leg from the knee joint, while he was serving duty on the Mayor Hanif Flyover at Joy Kali temple area of Wari, around 10:00am on May 12.
The bus was seized and the driver was detained.
However, earlier the deaths of Govt Titumir College student Rajib Hossain and house help Rozina Akter in separate road crashes in Islamabad, sparked huge condemnation and outrage countrywide.
